Devil May Cry 5 brings the series proper back in all its bloody style, once again starring the likes of Nero and Dante. This time around, however, you’ll also control a brand new character named V. These three character’s stories weave together across different missions, and if you’re here you’re probably wondering how long Devil May Cry 5 takes to beat.?

If you’ve played a Devil May Cry game in the past, the structure of five shouldn’t be any surprise to you.

Missions and Length

Devil May Cry 5 is split into 20 different missions, with most of them having you play as one specific character. However, some missions will let you choose which character to play as, and you can replay it again with a different character.

We won’t list the named of the missions here in order to avoid spoilers, but if you really want to see the full mission list you can do that in our other guide here. The length of Devil May Cry 5 is comparable to other games in the series, if not a little longer.

Our own playthrough of the game took roughly 18 hours, although we took a good amount of time to explore. Every mission has alternate pathways or areas you can find, rewarding you with extra red orbs or fragments to increase your health and Devil Trigger.

In addition to this, there are 12 secret missions to find scattered throughout the game, tasking you with completing different challenges.

What To Do After Beating the Game

Once you’ve beaten Devil May Cry 5 you’ll unlock some new moves for Nero, as well as the Son of Sparda difficulty. There are actually three more difficulties to unlock as well; Dante Must Die, Heaven and Hell, and Hell and Hell. The game encourages replayability, and all the red orbs you collect are persistent across every mission that you play.

Because of this, it’s likely that you’ll want to play the game at least one more time, on Son of Sparda, to unlock more difficulties. You can also play through to find all of the secret missions, and complete all of the trophies/achievements. If you want to see an do everything you’ll need to play through a couple of times, but you can cut down on your playtime by skipping cutscenes if you want to.
